Liliana is a Cuban-American fine artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who exhibits her work nationally. Her contemporary observational paintings delve into the emotional and physical impact of the artistic process. By combining rigorous historical reference with direct physical observation, she creates pieces that investigate the intricacies of beauty, mortality, and modern existence.

Liliana received her formal education at the Pratt Institute, where an early encounter with Paul Cézanne's The Bather (c. 1885) at the Museum of Modern Art sparked a lifelong intrigue with the master's work and its inherent visual dynamism. This foundational experience was further cultivated at the New York Studio School, where she engaged in an intensive study of Nicolas Poussin’s The Massacre of the Innocents (1625–1632). Supported by an independent grant, she subsequently traveled to France to study this masterpiece firsthand while participating in an artist residency in southern France. 

International research significantly influences her studio practice. As a fellow of the Rome Art Prize, Liliana completed a three-month residency in Italy, meticulously cataloging drawings and analytical sketches of classical masterpieces across Rome, Florence, and Venice. 

Maintaining a highly disciplined studio practice in the United States, she employs direct observation in her latest series to address contemporary social issues, mortality, and the revitalized sense of presence that characterizes her current artistic endeavors.
